Variegated Giant Reed
The variegated form of Giant Reed grass attaining a height of about 16 feet and produces a feathery plume of infertile seeds in late summer. Grey green leaves are accented with bold white stripes in spring which gradually change to a creamy yellow coloration by fall. Spreads primarily by underground rhizomes forming stands. Prefers sun to part shade and moist sandy soils but is highly drought tolerant. USDA zone 6.
